Adoption Process

Once the Home Study and Dossier are completed, and authenticated by the local and state governments, a final review  is done by our staff. The package is then sent to Russia. The next step is make the first trip to obtain referrals from the Russian Regional Government.

The parents go to the orphanage, meet with the child and obtain a referral. The court hearing usually occurs 3-5 weeks later. After the court adoption hearing and finalization date, the family travels to the US Embassy in Moscow to obtain an entrance visa into the USA for the child(ren).

Who can adopt

Single woman or married couples may apply to adopt from Russia. Generally, there are no specific age limitations.

Children

There are children available from 6 months of age. Younger children may also be adopted with certain medical conditions. Referrals (girls and boys) are available immediately. 

Travel Date & Length

The travel can vary depending upon families’ needs and the region from which they are adopting. Both parents must be present for the court hearing.
